Many a thread has been started on different forums and thought I have been up in the air about this character for many a year. On the eve of the show returning tomorrow night I thought about putting my thoughts out to you guys. How do you feel about Adam the Winchesters half brother. I’m not sure if his presence turned me upside down for the boys, or I was pleased for them, gaining another brother. I don’t no how that made me really feel about John Winchester thinking he cheated on Mary? As I did look, and still do up to John but that moment did slightly put me off him. Other factors come into my thoughts about Adam was he the golden boy they made him out to be. I still can’t make my mind up. He decided to go with the angels because, as a young boy he wanted to see his mother again, I could understand why he did the deal and went through with it? He didn’t really understand the full story of how angels could manipulate people, and get them to do what they wanted.
I also felt for Dean with Adam coming into this story. At first I thought what an amazing twist by our writers to think of another character and thread him into the story. But the more I began to understand what others thought, yes I believe Dean’s story was sidelined for Adam? Did Dean lose out on this precious story arc which could have been seen solely for him. But then thinking about how clever the writers were in bringing this stranger into the family did I want Sam and Dean to fight to their deaths in Swan Song? No, I hated this thought and would never have enjoyed watching either brother fight to their deaths, as thats what it would have amounted to. The alternative as we saw unfold was that Sam and Adam fell into the pit, and became hosts to Michael and Lucifer. Now this seemed odd to me that Dean is the elder and Sam is the younger brother but Adam is chosen as the elder brothers vessel, who is the younger brother, just an observation. Confused yes, I am.
Later we find Death gives Dean an ultimatum to save Sam or Adam this in Season 6 was the last we heard Adam being mentioned. This is what has upset me the most, that they can bring in a character twist the story then forget he ever existed. Why couldn’t Death manage to bring both of them out? Cas got Sam out, with out his soul and Death went back to retrieve Sam’s soul as Cas cocked it up. But my main bummer for ages is that the writers failed to tell the audience what really happened to Adam. Was this bad writing just to leave us out on a limb? I still think Adam has been tortured for eternity, a damn sight longer than Sam ever was. Sam was in the cage and he came back after spending time with him, and never mentions him ever. Is this strange that either brother never speaks of Adam since, that they have no trace, or feeling that he ever really existed. Did Adam actually end up in heaven, was this ever explained.
Bella feels this is shoddy work, and is sad to think that a human has been left to suffer at the mercy of Michael. If there ever is anything left of Adam he would probably be unrecognizable to bring him back anyway but the angels have been known to repair folks before. If Dean had been Michael would he have been left down there also, or as if by magic he would have been bought back topside also. But since Adam is not a full flown Winchester doesn’t this count.
I could go on about Adam, as over time this chapter has really got to me. It also makes me feel sometimes that the boys don’t care about their half brother, and what might have happened to him. Did they really try to look for ADAM? Was this a big loop hole by our team? The boys after all insist that they save people. I’m not sure even now if I actually liked Adam, but the fact the writers have just left this gaping great big hole is so sad. How could they actually turn this around if they did weave him back into the show? Could the boys actually mention him, would this suffice our burning fury over Adam, the forgotten Winchester.
Come on team let me know if you feel the same as I do, as I would like to no how you really feel about this other unmentionable Winchester?
