ERRIE—WEIRD—JUST PLAIN CREEPY
Two minutes to midnight came to Chicago in a shuddering way on the tenth of May in 2010. SUPERNATURAL came to visit and maybe that night Death did walk the sidewalk flicking away the life of some rude passerby and stopped by to dine on deep dish pizza. Maybe if you looked through the right pizzeria window you might have caught a glimpse of Dean Winchester gulping down his raw fear and bargaining with Death across a pie of buttery crust, slightly sweet tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese that sent up a steam of oregano in their faces. Maybe 3 million Chicagoan’s lives did hang in the balance between Dean’s nerve and Death’s whim.
That particular night SUPERNATURAL fans saw their episode delayed by a baseball game that played inning after inning until 2 minutes to midnight. Only then did the one drop of blood dispersing in the background of Season Five’s Title Card flash on the television screen. While Dean and Death talked and Crowley, the Cross Roads Coward fled, a real thunderstorm hit the area. Wind and rain plummeted Chicago streets just as wind and rain whirled on the Chicago streets outside of Rinascita Pizzeria.
One coincidence rolled over another that night of May 10 in 2010 causing Chicago fans to feel a bit of a chill as the wind sweep by and the clocks across the city struck midnight while Cas, Bobby, Sam,Dean and even Crowley struggled to save the world. Maybe Angels and Demons and Winchester’s were playing things a bit too close to home that night and maybe holding the Apocalypse at bay was played out just beyond Chicagoan’s locked and bolted doors.
Can coincidence be more than remarkable concurrence of events without causal connection?
Do you know of any other serendipity events connected to SUPERNATURAL?
Does Fate link the spiritual realm to SUPERNATURAL?
Can you portray fiction too close to urban legends?
