The Great Winchester Road Trip Project – Page Layout text Box’s

Okay, after some considerable time on the Road Trip information box for the book I have just finished The Pilot. Obviously this is just the text not the finished layout as regards presentation. I am hoping my brother will help me with this. Hint, hint. Its been hard work, but above all its been fun. And to see all the little areas come together has been wonderful. Cataloguing all this information will be great for fans to use as a complete reference source a go to book for all Supernatural Road trip information.

Eventually what I will need from all the authors taking part is a score for each episode a mark out of ten which I will put in the final box on the second page of each review. Each review will cover four pages. Two for the review side by side and two on the review side by side. Obviously with WordPress I cannot lay the project out as I would In-Design my software programme. The other thing I would still like from my authors is a few paragraphs on the four main characters, Sam, Dean, Cas and Crowley. I would also still like a little section on yourselves to include in the project so readers can get to know you and why you fell in love with the show.

I still need an up date on how each of you are doing. What work you have put towards the project. If you have started or when you can start.  If you are corresponding with one another those of you whom are working tightly together on the same seasons. Are you corresponding okay?  I have given a year for the project but the speed at which its taken me to find this current info I can see the end finish date a long way off. This doesn’t overly matter as I can see the show going for another couple of seasons at least. The boys seem happy in what they are doing and with the show. So who knows we may need to calculate beyond Season 12.

The other trouble I am having is with Maps, pinning the actual journey. There are exact pin points on Google but cannot copy and paste them into the document. So does anyone know if I can use a map and pin your own location from A to B and in between stops?

Any concerns on the information that you think might be wrong, or unhappy with please let me know.

Email address is as ever, if you want to correspond with me of site

Popular References:

Sam: We’re not exactly the Brady’s

Friend: And I’m not exactly the Huxtables.

Sam is referring to the American old TV Sit-com called ‘The Brady Bunch’ which ran from 1969-1974. The show represents what is thought to be the ultimate American working class family. His friend happens to mention The Brady’s an 80’s equvialent from the Crosby Show, The Huxtables it could be that Sam may be thinking about Eric Brady a character Jensen Ackles played on the Soap Opera ‘Days of our Lives.’

Dean: (to two FBI agents) Agent Mulder, Agent Scully. FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigated X-Files: Solved cases involving paranormal phenomena.

Dean: I love the Smurfs – The Smurfs was a cartoon series about little blue creatures living in mushroom houses in the woods. There was only one female smurf, Smurfette. Some fans believe that Dean, however, is referring not to the smurfs on Jessica’s shirt, but to the pair underneath.

Music used:

“What Cha Gonna Do” by Classic (Jessica, Sam and a friend are at the Halloween party)

“Speaking in Tongues” by Eagles of Death Metal (The guy stops for the hitch-hiking Woman in White)

Best Quotes from

‘The Pilot’

Dean: So what are you gonna do? Just live some normal, apple pie life? Is that it?

Sam: No, not normal. Safe.

Dean: And that’s why you ran away?

Sam: I was just going to college. It was Dad who said if I was gonna go, I should stay gone. And that’s what I’m doing.

Dean: I can’t do this alone.

Sam: Yes, you can.

Dean: Yeah, well… I don’t want to.

Sam: I swear, man, you have got to update your cassette tape collection.

Dean: Why?

Sam: Well, for one: they’re cassette tapes. And two: Black Sabbath? Motörhead? Metallica? It’s the greatest hits of mullet rock.

Dean: House rules, Sammy. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole.

Sam: You know, Sammy is a chubby 12-year-old. It’s Sam, okay?

Dean: Sorry, I can’t hear you. The music’s too loud.

  1. Wow! This is a fascinating collection of facts. Including things I hadn’t given a single thought to, like scenery, information on the towns visited and the distances between jobs, and all of the music for an episode. This would be an invaluable chronicle of a long running TV show.

    1. Thanks Ikeke, I am pleased that people are liking the layout. Its been tough going, but I think once I get into the swing it will be okay. If you still wanted to come on board and write with us you are more than welcome. As you did express an interest when the idea first came out. This was what I wanted to achieve, to show how much time was spent on the road, and what the boys did from place to place, and the conditions and terrain surrounding in the road if that makes sense. Also how the boys researched the case and detail about the monster in question. As Sam said to Dean ‘We have work to do!’

  2. “Scenery: Boosts some amazing mountainess passes, with stunning views”
Boosts should be boasts and mountainess should be mountainous.

    1. Thanks Barb, my software program doesn’t have a spell check facility with the red line underneath a wrongly spelt word. And I forgot to spell check it before I published it on here, naughty girl silly me 😉

  3. Pilot is not a refined version of what is now a well oiled machine of Supernatural. It had all of the elements and two interesting but different brothers The theme of family came on stronger than the idea of the scary parts, but there is enough to catch a viewer’s attention. It worked well enough to be purchased by the floundering WB network. The pilot gets 8/10 only because it was so different that the rest of T.V. at the time and it had yet to be financed properly as a show. so it was the basics to sell the idea. The chemistry between Jared/Jensen sold me on the show immediately.
